Duties + Requirements
Health Development Manager
Duties
Develop and adapt Community Health, Nursing and Allied Health curricula for use by healthcare professionals and community members in Cambodia
Develop lesson plans, objectives, presentations (both PowerPoint and video) and assessment tools in line with National Policy and Guidelines
Coordinate culturally and linguistically appropriate curriculum translation, ensuring all trainings conducted are in line with Cambodian National Policy and Guidelines
Evaluate courses and training teams
Observe and evaluate educational trends and augment curricula as necessary
Explain technical medical concepts and practices in non-technical language
Provide technical assistance in the establishment of Community Health, Nursing and Allied Health training programs
Develop and oversee in-service training and supportive supervision programs for MoH Nurses and Midwives
Assist with the collection of baseline data
Develop objectives, strategies, measurable impact indicators, and plans to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness
Program Monitoring and Evaluation: support monitoring and evaluation of projects
Develop a strong understanding of MTI’s project management systems for project reporting
Represent MTI Community Health, Nursing and Allied Health projects to concerned parties within Cambodia
Maintain cordial, productive working relationships with local partners
Participate in relevant working groups and forums for key stakeholders (eg MoH, International and local NGOs) working in the health sector in Cambodia
Identify and establish strategic alliances within the MoH, NGO, INGO, and for-profit sectors
Network with local representatives of international donors: identify potential funding opportunities
Requirements
Cambodia national preferred
Professional-level nursing degree in related field
Verifiable work experience that includes IMCI and midwifery training
Strong report writing skills
At least three years of health-sector NGO program experience in Cambodia
General understanding of project cycle management (PCM), general concepts of international community development, and networking
Excellent problem solver, a self-starter; functions well in a multi-task environment
Familiarity with Christian cultures
Commitment to the mission and vision of Medical Teams International
Oral and written fluency in both English and Khmer. Simultaneous translation experience preferred
