CE (Community Extension) Project Officer

About Company: WWF, one of the world’s largest independent conservation organizations, has a global network active in more than 100 countries. As part of the WWF Greater Mekong Program (GMP), WWF-Cambodia which manages a wide array of conservation projects in the forest, freshwater and species priority areas, is seeking 1 experienced and qualified candidates for the following positions:
JOB TITLE :CE (Community Extension) Project Officer
Schedule :Full-Time
LOCATION:Phnom Penh.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Coordinates and facilitates community meetings and consultation.
Coordinates with the commune councils the project activities in selected communes and with other relevant stakeholders for the project.
Builds capacities and public awareness at the community level via information, education and communication campaign about relevant laws/policies and principles on resource management and biodiversity conservation and provision of relevant trainings;
Facilitates identification and implementation of appropriate livelihood projects for the communities;
Assists in the development and implementation of natural resource management plans of the communities and in formation of appropriate community associations for involving in resource management;
Implements progressive monitoring and evaluation of project activities and capacities of communities.
Attend meetings, workshops, and trainings as authorised by his supervisor.
To effectively perform his/her tasks as community facilitator, the Project Assistant is required to stay with the communities at least 15 days a month
To feedback regular information to the supervisor to enable the preparation of project reports and plans in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS:
Working Relationships:
Internal: Reports directly to the Project Officer for Community Extension. Liaises with other members of the Community Engagement Team of the Eastern Plains Landscape Project.
External: Required to interact with all stakeholders: government partners of WWF, NGOs, private sector organizations and local communities.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Education:
Bachelor Degree in Forestry/Natural Resource Management or Business Management/Marketing
2. Knowledge:
High level coordination and organization skills
Fluency in written and spoken English and native language;
Proficiency in MS Office.
3. Experience:
At least 2 years work experience, preferably in development or conservation NGOs
4. General Skills:
Can drive motorbike
5. Technical Skills:
Facilitation and conflict resolution skills
Skills in forest inventory is a plus
6. Personalities:
Approachable
Organised
