As part of the WWF Greater Mekong Program (GMP), WWF-Cambodia which manages a wide array of conservation projects in the forest, freshwater and species priority areas, is seeking 1 experienced and qualified candidates for the following positions:
JOB TITLE :Rattan Project Assistant
Schedule :Full-Time
LOCATION:Phnom Penh.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Rattan Project Assistant will provide the following tasks:
A. Work plan Development and Implementation
- Monitor the implementation of the work plan in project sites
- Secure participation community meetings and other stakeholder workshops to develop participatory management plans
B. Project Implementation
- Monitor and update project budget, advise Manager on spending of the budgets and assist the Manager in the revision of project annual budgets
- Responsibility for the organisation of the meetings and workshops (NTFP working group) as well as study tours.-
- Assist Project Manager in preparation of project reports and be able to translate brief report from English to Khmer and Khmer to English languages.
- Provide technical support and advice to managers and staff, counterparts and consultants, and respond to requests for information of the project
- Coordination with Project Partner implementing regarding project implementation and ensure linkage with the overall project activity workplan.
- Provide technical support on rattan community development group in WWF rattan pilot sites
- In cooperation with other project members, organise meetings, workshops, study tours and training courses and facilitate workshops, discussions and consultations with communities and stakeholders under the projects
C. Partnership Development and Networking
- Establish relations and keep regular contact with key partners (multi-sector, government and non-government) at local, national and regional levels (for implementation and networking/lessons sharing
- Promote the organisation’s image in the community by attendance at meetings and for a in related fields
D. Communications
- Provide support to the development of press release/conference on results of project
- Provide inputs to communications products, materials, and campaigns to ensure accurate information of the project when required
E. Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting
- Secure community and project stakeholder participation in development of the Monitoring and Evaluation Plan -
- This TOR covers the main tasks and conveys the spirit of the sort of tasks that are anticipated proactively from staff. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary according to organizational needs.
III. Working Relationships
1. Internal
- Work in close collaboration with the Project Manager and WWF Cambodia Financial Officer and WWF Regional Project Financial Officer but also keep regulars contacts with all project staff and WWF colleagues
- WWF Network: N/A
2. External
- Liaise and work with Government agencies, communities, partners, private sectors, consultants and international and local NGOs

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education
- A degree in forestry science, natural resources management, rural development, agronomy or related to the field
2. Knowledge
- Additional courses on project management and English is required.
- Project administration
- Knowledge of M&E methodology
- Knowledge of procurement and basic accounting
- Knowledge of WWF priority areas and landscapes
3. Experience
- Minimum 2 year experiences on forest management or project implementation
- Working with governments and local NGOs
- Coordinating with local community
4. General Skills
- Good writing and speaking in English languages and Khmer is native language
- Good Computer (Word, Excel, Internet, Email)
5. Technical Skills
- Good communication and negotiation
- Good planning and organizing
- Good team work
6. Ability
- Willingness to travel to remote locations, and work in six provinces.
- Work independently
